Design thinking at Year 11

Exploring design styles

Year 11 Visual Communication and Design students have been investigating the work of American artist and designer Charley Harper. Students had to create an artwork with an animal as the subject matter. They then manipulated the design elements and principles to transform their animal into the Charley Harper style. Students explored a range of art mediums to communicate their work. The aim of this task was to engage students in creative and critical design thinking
