Northcote had a strong representation at the Division Netball Tournament with a squad of 4 teams consisting of year 9/10 students. It concluded with an exciting Northcote Vs Northcote Final. A Year 9 boys’ team also represented and won in a very close and exciting game by one point!
All students played exceptionally well, winning most of their games and displaying great team work and sportsmanship. The Year 10 Purple team finished first and will be competing in the Regional competition in July.
Well done to all players!
Ms Wright
The Intermediate girls’ football team played an outstanding game against Thornbury High School on Wednesday 24th May. With perfect weather and under the coaching of Ms. Smith and Ms. Lange the team managed a phenomenal final score of 19.8.122 - 1.1.7 on CT Barling Reserve, Reservoir. The whole team played excellently, but particular mention needs to go to Abigail Bennet, Molly Uwland and Jamie Spangher. They now move into the next division, to be played in July.
Year 9 /10 Soccer Winners
Congratulations to our Year 9/10 Soccer Teams who won the Divisional Round by finishing at the top of their pool. Both teams now move through to Regionals and will compete next term.
Year 9 /10 AFL
Well done to our Intermediate Footy Teams. Both teams were successful in moving to the next round.
Due to an overwhelming response of students wanting to play netball this year, we decided to run a fun tournament for Year 7 & 8 students at Coburg Stadium on May 26. We had a fantastic day beginning that started with Mrs Tayton running an electric aerobic warm up. The day consisted of a year level round robin competition, finishing off with ‘fun finals’ where the winner of Year 7 played the winner of Year 8. Year 7 took the title and were crowned the first NHS Netball Champs 2017.
