GROWING TOGETHER

Hello, Hello!

The Animal Angels and Garden Gurus have been busily cleaning and refurbishing the animal enclosures in preparation for the change of season and some new arrivals. It’s like watching a live version of the TV series ‘The Block, Block, Block............................. ’🐓.

The ever-expanding team had a meeting with Mrs Stutterd to throw a few ideas around.

No bars in the chook pen will allow for seating and the freedom for both chooks and 

humans to move around. Open plan living - genius! Our fearless finches have had some new perches put in, thanks to some of our much-loved angels. 

They’re sourced from the local gum trees in the reptile enclosure, using homegrown products. Scotty Cam would be proud.

We have been lucky to gain the services of Tyler Pearson and Ben Kenny from St Bede’s on a Tuesday (and a bit of Wednesday for Tyler). Tyler has kindly donated some more finches. Their names are Bucks and Swanny. The toughest finch in the world, our mighty  Rocky Balboa, can barely contain himself with all his new-found friends. He’s one very happy finch.

The guinea pig enclosure has been scrubbed clean ready for the arrival of our new furry 

friends for the second term. Maybe we should enter Victoria’s2021 tidy town competition. 

We’d be a shoo-in.  A new seating style, ably designed by our garden community, will include a bunch of cut tree stumps strategically placed all around the precinct- very 

rustic, team! The enclosures will be finishedoff with some of Kenny’sfresh mulch. 

The mighty Go-Go Gophers are ready to spread. Hurry up please, Kenny! I can’t hold them back for much longer. The enclosures will also be treated to a lick of paint thanks to our ever-expanding garden crew.

Name: Delilah

Age: 10, our oldest chicken (along with her sister, Priscilla) Personality: Clucky and bossy. No-one messes with Delilah Talents: Booting other chickens out of their lay box and sitting on their eggs

Most eggs sat on in one sitting: 13 (None were hers. She can’t be bothered laying anymore.)

Favourite rooster: Frank ❤

Favourite food: sunflower seeds 🌻
