Diversity Day
On Wednesday 23 June, from 12.30 – 2.10pm, the Year 9 and 10 -Isms/Sociology class will be running a non-compulsory Diversity Day mini-fete. At this, there will be activities aimed at celebrating the great diversity we have within the school. The students have worked hard to cater for all ages (including primary) and abilities, so there is sure to be something for everyone!
There will be six stalls on the day. These will celebrate Indigenous Australia, multiculturalism, the LGBTQ+ community, Pacific Islander cultures, people with disabilities, and European heritage. Each of these will have their own activities, including colouring sheets, word searches, games, music, quizzes and other assorted fun.
The students have proposed that the day be used to raise funds for Beyond Blue, given that mental health challenges can affect anyone, from any walk of life. To help with this, students will be encouraged to wear diversity-themed attire, for a gold coin donation. Examples of this could include a kilt for those of Scottish heritage, a Pride t-shirt, or a kimono for those of Japanese heritage.
There will also be activities costing a gold coin, like guessing the number of lollies in a jar and face painting. Additionally, there will be some items on sale for a gold coin fee, including diversity-themed handmade recipe books and, potentially, food.
Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to invite parents and carers onsite to celebrate. However, photos of the day will be displayed in our next College newsletter, to display to you the vast range of diversities we have within the school.

The supplier of our primary polar fleece lined jacket have advised us that they do not have any size 14’s in stock until early term 3. At this stage we have all other sizes available.
