Science

Last term we had great fun exploring light and sound.  The children did a fantastic job designing  and constructing their own instruments.

We also enjoyed a STEM challenge where we had to construct a boat out of foil and then see how many dice it could hold before it sank.

This term, we will be exploring what materials are made of (wood, metal, plastic etc.), solids, liquids and gases and mixtures.  Our children will also have a ball pretending to be crazy scientists, mixing ingredients together to see what happens. Each teacher has planned a different experiment for the students to conduct and see the chemical reaction that occurs. Each class will rotate around to all 4 teachers to conduct the experiments and collect data like real scientists! Before we begin, children will make predictions about what they think might happen when certain ingredients are mixed together. Then they will make note of what they can see at the beginning and what changes they observe.
