MacKillop Hockey

Congratulations to Audrey P who was successful at the MacKillop Hockey trials last week. Audrey has not only been selected for the 2023 MacKillop Team to compete at the NSWPSSA Hockey Championships in Tamworth but she also has the privilege of being team CAPTAIN. What an achievement Audrey, a true leader of St Patrick’s.

NSWPSSA Tennis

Petar S competed at the NSWPSSA Tennis in Albury throughout last week. He has experienced an incredible week of Tennis while spending time with other Athletes from the MacKillop Tennis Team. The MacKillop team bonded from the first day, enjoying their time on and off the court. The days on the court were intense from 7am to 5pm but the passion and energy allowed them to do it all over again the following day. The competitors were very strong however all of them tried their best, leaving their hearts on the court. We look forward to hearing Petar’s names throughout the years as I’m sure this experience has ignited his determination to continue training for what comes next.

NSWPSSA Touch

Charli M will be representing our school as part of the MacKillop Team at Touch Football over a 3 day competition throughout week 5. We wish you all the best Charli!

MacKillop Soccer Trials

Sophie A will take to the field next week for the MacKillop Girls Football (soccer) trials. Wishing you all the best Sophie for this trial.

A reminder notification was sent via COMPASS to all participants attending the Cross Country Championships next week. To ensure the event is run smoothly, please have a read of the COMPASS notes before the event. Good-luck to all of our runners on the day. Just a reminder that our school is in the PM session and gates to Sydney Motor Sports Park will open from 11:15am, no earlier. See you all there.

Sutherland Sharks Basketball Gala Day

Year 5 Boys

Unfortunately there weren't enough schools entered for our year 5 boys to take the courts at the Sutherland Basketball Gala Day. With the late notice of cancellation, Sutherland Sharks Basketball offered to send a coach out to school on Monday to put the boys through a Basketball session in addition to their regular Physical Education Lesson. This had the boys smiling again until it rained tremendously and we had to send the coach home. I will keep all parents informed of any further Basketball opportunities for all students as it is made available to myself.

Year 3 and 4 Boys

Thank you to those who signed up for the year 3 and 4 boys Basketball Gala Day. Unfortunately, there were not enough schools entered and the gala day has been post phoned until term 3. When a date has been finalised this information will be shared with you.

AFL Paul Kelly Cup - Year 5 & 6

Registrations have now closed for the Stage 3 AFL Paul Kelly Cup. They are expecting a large gala day this year with many schools entering. AFL have offered to do a free session on our school grounds with all students attending so they are familiar with the rules before the day. This gala day will be held on Wednesday 7th June which is the same week as our schools Athletic Carnival. I will meet with all students to sort their teams and will communicate with parents regarding all details including consent, draws and timings of the day via COMPASS.

St Patrick’s Games

On Tuesday 30th May our Kindergarten and Year 1 students will enjoy a morning of fun at our St Patrick's Games. This event is our mini Athletics Carnival for our K-1 students. We encourage families to come along to cheer and support their students as they rotate through various fun games and activities that they have been preparing for as part of their Athletic Unit in Physical Education lessons.

The St Patrick’s Games will begin at 9.00am and is expected to finish at 11:15am. Students will receive a participation medal and an ice block upon completion of the Games. Parents are welcome to stay and have Lunch 1 with their child/ren on the QUAD playground.

Don’t forget to wear sports uniform and this can be adapted with shirts, hair ribbons, hats and other items/accessories which correlate to their house colour. Each child’s house colour can be found on COMPASS.

Annual School Athletics Carnival

Our annual school Athletic Carnival will be held at The Ridge Sporting Complex on Monday, 5th June for Years 2-6. Please provide consent for your child via COMPASS at your earliest convenience to assist with our planning for the event.

If you would like to nominate your child for a timed/measured event, please complete this Registration Form by Friday 19th May 2023. Timed/measured events are for athletes with a high level of skill who want to be considered to represent the school at the Conference 3 Trial. All other students will still have the opportunity to participate in the Grade events as outlined in the Athletics Note found on COMPASS.
