CAMPUS MINISTRY

EASTER

We end this term with the most important week of the Christian Year, Holy Week, where we recall the events of Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection. We remember Jesus eating and praying with his disciples, his betrayal and beating, his death and absence and then, miraculously, his resurrection. We are “Easter people.” We know deep within our bodies and souls that there is something more; that life is more than meets the eye. We have faith that there will be a great Light. We believe that there will be a dawn. We have faith that Jesus will rise on Easter.

I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and holy Easter and that you may catch glimpses of the resurrection in the love of those around you.

PROJECT COMPASSION

The end of Lent marks the end of the College's fundraising for Project Compassion (Caritas). While more accurate donation amounts will be released next term, I am pleased to announce that we raised over $6,000 this year. These monies go directly to the world's poorest and most needy people, so you can be sure your donations go to a great cause.

Thank you all for your efforts, but special thanks to:

  • Cooper's Cookies (ran by Cooper Bouwman in Year 10 Hannan) for raising over $400.
  • The PCGs and Captains who ran cake stalls, drink sales and other events.
  • Year 11 Carden for their sausage sizzle – especially to Torre & Mordini Gourmet Meats in Carine who kindly donated the sausages.

Deacon Paul Reid from Caritas will join us at our Whole School Assembly in Week 1 of Term 2, where we will present him with our donations.
