Principal's News

Dear Armadale Community,

We were very excited this afternoon to finally have our commemorative event for the late Queen’s Jubilee which was celebrated in June 2022. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth 11, passed away on 8 September 2022. We have selected a beautiful pink crepe myrtle to plant in the centre of our stage in the Queen’s honour. I am incredibly grateful to Gretchen Puccinelli for sourcing the tree, Zaim Zeneli for assisting with the placement and Sam Barber for all his expertise advice and guidance on the tree and for organising the landscaping which will occur in the school holidays to plant the tree safely and the surrounding ground covers.

We were delighted tp have Michael O’Brien, our local Member for Malvern to join us for the ceremony. Our School Captains, Stella, Charlie, Jem and Mia hosted the event and then gave Michael a tour of our kitchen garden. Parents who could stay joined us for afternoon tea in the staffroom and we had sweet treats in the Queen’s honour.

Daylight saving ends on Sunday April 2nd at 2.00am

A reminder to our community to turn the clocks back one hour on Sunday night. I know we are all looking forward to waking up in daylight and putting the children to bed when it is dark.

School Photo day on Tuesday 4th April

A reminder to all our families we are having our school photos taken on the day and it would be great to have all children attend the day, looking bright and sparkling for their photos. A reminder to have placed your order with School Pix.

Next week is the end of term and all children will be dismissed at 2.30pm on Thursday April 6th.

Our final assembly for the end of Term will be held on Thursday April 6th at 9.00am and we look forward to seeing parents at that assembly. Our Jellis Craig Values awards will be awarded to a child nominated by their teacher in each class and there will be Specialists awards as well for each of our specialist areas; including our library and kitchen garden.

We wish Sarah, our front of office amazing person a wonderful trip overseas to spend special time with her family and Vita an enjoyable LSL next week. We look forward to seeing Sarah and Vita upon their return in Term 2.

Enjoy your weekend, there is much on offer in Melbourne with the Flower and Garden show, the Grand Prix, the Comedy festival and so much more!

Warm regards,

Rochelle
