Jazz on the Green

The beloved Jazz on the Green is back at Clayfield College with the Katie Noonan Trio headlining this year’s event.

 

Join us on Sunday 31 July. The oval opens at 1:00 pm, preshow at 1:30 pm, and the show starts at 2:00 pm.

 

Bring your family and friends, your lawn chairs or picnic rugs and soak in the perfect combination of live music and a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Round it off with a drink from the bar or Champagne marquee and enjoy some food and treats from the vendors' area.

Artists

Katie Noonan Trio - Headline Act 

Over the past 20 years, five-time ARIA award-winning artist Katie Noonan has proven herself one of Australia’s most hardworking, versatile and prolific artists. Named one of the greatest Australian singers of all time by the Herald Sun, Katie has produced 21 studio albums over her career with seven x platinum record sales under her belt and 27 ARIA award nominations that span diverse genres. Katie has performed for royalty, national and international leaders, and blazed a trail for young women artists. Music, for Katie, is a lifelong lesson, a generous act of giving, and a means to change the world.

 

Karin Schaupp

Karin Schaupp is one of the most outstanding guitarists on the international scene and a Clayfield College Old Collegian. Karin performs widely on the international stage as a recitalist, concerto soloist and festival guest, and has given countless recitals in Australia, Europe, Asia, the US, Mexico and Canada.  Karin’s playing receives the highest acclaim from critics and audiences alike and she is held in great esteem by her peers worldwide.

 

Clayfield College Big Band

The Clayfield College Big Band consists of students who are part of the Music program at the College. The students all share a passion for jazz and contemporary art music. The band is directed by Tim Opstelten and is one of the most innovative and aspiring school bands in Brisbane.

Brisbane City Big Band

One of Brisbane’s most historically significant community bands that has been entertaining the people of Brisbane for over 110 years.  It is one of the original member bands of the current Bands in Parks program.  Under the direction of David Jones, it has a strong, vibrant member base and has played at civic events, Anzac ceremonies and gala concerts throughout the city. 

 

Brisbane Boys’ College Big Band

BBC’s Big Band covers all styles of Jazz music and performs regularly at College and community events.
