UniSC Open Day

The University of Sunshine Coast will open their Moreton Bay campus at Petrie this Saturday to prospective students from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

There will be 30-minute info sessions on the different faculties at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm. Learn more about the degrees you are interested in, including getting started, placements and what your career may look like.

 

For students in Years 10 and 11, there will be special 30-minute sessions just for you on choosing subjects for Year 11 and 12, trying out uni while you are still at school, how to get an offer before you finish Year 12 and applying for scholarships. These sessions will run at 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Year 12 students can sit in on talks at these same times, which will cover how to choose the right program and uni for you, how getting into uni works, getting an offer before you finish Year 12, what uni life is like and applying for scholarships to help you out financially.

Defence Force Challenge Yourself Experience Day

Defence Force Recruiting Brisbane and our Women in Defence Team would like to extend an invitation to students in Years 11 and 12 to participate in our Challenge Yourself Experience Day on Thursday 4 August 2022.

 

This is a unique experience that will allow students to immerse themselves in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) lifestyle.

 

On the day:

  • Participate in an Over Water Obstacle Course
  • Engage with our Women in Defence Team and learn tips and tricks about preparing yourself for fitness in the ADF
  • Network with current serving women from Army units

CHALLENGE YOURSELF EXPERIENCE DAY

When: Thursday 4 August 2022

Time: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

Where: Gallipoli Barracks, Lloyd Street, Enoggera QLD 4051 

(Students will be required to make their own way to Gallipoli Barracks)

 

What's included:

  • Lunch on the day will be provided
  • Transport once on base
  • There are no costs associated for students to participate

What to bring:

  • Photo ID (this can be a student ID) to be permitted on base
  • Wear enclosed shoes, long pants/tights and a t-shirt (NO singlets, skirts, dresses or clothing with inappropriate/offensive slogans)
  • Must bring EXTRA for the Over Water Obstacle Course (these will get wet): Long pants (to the ankles), T-shirt (can be long sleeved), Shoes, Plastic bag for wet clothes and Towel

Who can attend:

  • Female high school students in Years 11 to 12 (16 years and over) who are considering a career in the ADF
  • Confident swimmer
  • Students must be a permanent resident obtaining Citizenship
