The First Fleet
On Monday, Year 4 students went back in time to the late 1700s to explore the First Fleet journey from Portsmouth to New South Wales. They dressed as passengers of the fleet and enjoyed a memorable Living History incursion. Students viewed and handled historical artefacts from the time and learned what it would have been like for convicts sentenced to transportation to Australia. They visited the Green Screen room later in the day to take period photos, highlighting what life would have been like on board the sailing ships and in the early settlement at Sydney Cove.
Students from Pre-Prep to Year 6 were enthralled by an exciting collaboration between Opera Queensland and Shake and Stir Theatre company on Wednesday. The three singers each played multiple characters to tell their adaptation of the Grimm fairy-tale, The Frog Prince, captivating students’ hearts with the blossoming of an unlikely friendship and important lessons about caring for our environment.
For those students who are swimming training as part of Andrews Cup on a Friday afternoon, please find the following rules that will be closely monitored by the staff of the College.
Please note, no devices are to be used at any other before or after school Andrews Cup or Britton Shield Training.
A new date for the Years 2 to 6 Interhouse Athletics Carnival will be confirmed and communicated as soon as possible.
We congratulate the following students on their Semester 2 Leadership.

Clayfield College invites parents to an evening on how to help your child transition to Secondary School with Dr. Justin Coulson.
It’s a big change for children when they move from primary to high school. Change is never really easy. And moving from the comfort and warmth of a small primary school to a big impersonal high school is a major change for students. But if we recognise the challenges, we can help prepare our kids and ease the transition.
Australia’s number one parenting writer, Dr Justin Coulson, reveals his tips on how to make the transition easier. Dr. Coulson is the co-host and parenting expert on Channel 9's "Parental Guidance", the founder of happyfamilies.com.au, and one of Australia’s most trusted parenting experts.
