World's Greatest Shave

In an effort to raise funds to provide life changing support for families in Australia facing blood cancer we have nine students and one teacher who will be cutting, shaving and/or donating their hair as a part of the World’s Greatest Shave. Cutting or shaving your hair can fundraise for the treatment, research and care that goes into beating blood cancer, and if you have 30+ cm of hair, it can be donated to Foundations able to turn it into wigs for people who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy.

When: Friday 29 July (alongside crazy hair day)

If you would like to donate to any of our GSG participants, their sponsor links are below.

Children’s University Update

Over the holidays a group of Children’s University participants took part in workshops offered through the program. There were a number of lessons students could participate in, including nature journaling, a walk through the community with Noongar PhD student Ursula and designing a wave buoy. The classes were interactive and hands on, and saw students, and their parents/guardians immersed in their chosen topics.

Children’s University stamping will continue throughout the semester on a Friday lunch time in the Junior School Maker Space. There will also be strategy style board games available during this time to play. A session of board game playing will be worth 30 minutes in their passport. I encourage students to also check out the plethora of activities available through the online portal using their log in details that are situated in the back of their passports.
