Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

This week, students in Years 5 & 6 have been busy bringing their stories to life through film and audio.  Our sincere thanks to our Artist in Residence, Alison Plasto, for her time and energy in sharing her knowledge as a Director and Cinematographer, to inspire our students to develop and share their stories.  It has been great to see how engaged students have been in this process and the creative approach they have taken, in telling their stories.

Next week is Book Week!  As part of our annual celebrations, we will be holding a Book Fair on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in the BER/Library building between 3.30 - 4.30 pm, so please stop by to browse the books for sale.   All proceeds go towards the ongoing purchase of books for the library.  Our Book Week Parade will be held on Friday 12th August, right after the bell and families are invited to join us for this very special event.

Weather permitting, the 5/6 ski program will commence next Thursday 11th August. Many thanks to Melanie and Dave for their organisation of this program.  A special meeting will be held at 4pm today, for all volunteers.

Friday 19th August has been designated a professional practice day for our staff, to undertake whole staff professional learning.  To enable this, we will be having a pupil free day.  OSHC will be running for families who require this support, but bookings are essential.  Please submit a booking form via the OSHC page or contact Kath on 0418399861.

A reminder that there will be no Canteen until further notice.  We are currently exploring possible options and hope to advise families of an alternate arrangement soon.

Please continue to notify the school if your child tests positive for COVID or is a close contact.  Please also ensure your child understands the importance of wearing a mask indoors, to help keep everyone safe.  RAT kits are still available for collection from the office.
