Student Wellbeing

Term 3

Welcome back to our students, staff and community members for what is sure to be an incredibly busy Term 3. This term will see our Student Wellbeing and Engagement School Improvement Team (SIT) evaluate and further develop our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework.

Aims of Positive Behaviour Support

The primary aim of SWPBS is to improve educational outcomes for students. It achieves this through:

  • a consistent approach and a common language across Concord School
  • prevention of behaviour problems and management of existing issues positively and consistently
  • developing skills and knowledge in schools for better teaching and learning
  • creating and maintaining a better school environment for students, teachers and the whole school community.

The SWPBS framework is founded on a positive approach to whole school wellbeing with targeted approaches for students with higher levels of need.

‘Back to School’ Resources from the Wellbeing Team

Our Wellbeing Team has put together some resources that you might find helpful to get back into the school routine.  We understand technology is a big part of our student lives, but it’s important to balance screen time with other activities to promote development and wellbeing.  If screens are kept out of a child’s bedroom at night-time, a child won’t be able to stay up all night playing games or messaging/calling friends. Developing healthy screen habits can help children and teenagers make better choices, develop better sleep patterns, and improves general mental health and wellbeing.

We have included a link below about the impact of technology and sleep; 7-tips to reducing screen time; and Sleep relaxation/better sleep tips for children and teenagers.
