Buddies In The Kitchen Garden

During our Buddies session last week, we started our new gardening program. We were placed into four groups which were weeding, composting, planting and art and crafts.

In the weeding group, we got a spade and bucket to weed the garden beds. For the composting group, we were taught about composting and the worm farm; some of us were able to cut up food scraps for the worms. For the planting group, we got plastic bottles, wrapped some newspaper around them and taped them together to create a pot; then we filled the pots with soil and placed a seed in it. For the arts and crafts group, we learnt about the life cycle of an earth worm and its different parts.
