Principal's  Report

June 2021

We are incredibly proud of our school community for the way in which it has responded to the current lockdown and the transition back to remote learning this term.

The return of our Year 11 and 12 Students returning and are hopeful that all Year 7-10 students will be back on the 15th June, stay calm and focused. We will get back on track when we return to school like we all did last year.

Please refer to our Compass posts through the newsfeed. We will endeavour to keep the community updated as soon as we can.

Once again thank you to our incredible school community. Stay safe, and stay connected, be kind to each other.

Greensborough College Buildings Update

On another note we have been incredibly busy over the last 3 weeks with the Greensborough Sports Precinct finally being finished and up and running. It’s very exciting that finally the students can access the ovals for their classes. We will be opening the ovals up at recess and lunch very soon. Watch this space!

On Saturday 22nd May we celebrated by having a community open day to celebrate the college’s new facilities. This was also in conjunction with Education week.

This Year’s Education Week ran from 23-29 May with the theme ‘Building Connections’. Now in its 77th year, Education Week aims to positively profile and celebrate the strengths and achievements of Victoria’s government education sector. The theme celebrates the connections between schools and local communities and strengthens bonds with families and carers.

We had a great turn out with many families stopping by to look at the new school facilities.

Our parents, students and student leaders were out in force helping to make the day a huge success and we thank them for their support.

Whilst we talking buildings stage 2 of the redevelopment is really progressing with all three of the slabs now poured and frames and roofing is starting to appear. Its exciting to see the changes every day as we come to work, before we know it we will be setting up the new spaces and enjoying the next phase of our new facilities.

2020 Annual Report

It is with pleasure that I present the 2020 Annual Report to the School Community. This report is a record of our performance as a school community, compared to all other government schools and to schools like ours.  It highlights the learning growth and achievements of our students and documents the school improvement journey we have been undertaking.

Farewell

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Paul Meager on picking up an ongoing position at Peter Lalor Secondary College it is a fantastic opportunity, one that I am sure he will thrive in by teaching and supporting their students as much as he has at Greensborough College. Paul has been at the College for 12 years and has contributed to a variety of roles in the school.  We wish him all the best in his new school.

Take care in these uncertain times and remember to support each other.
