Together we Thrive
Tax Time Letter from the Principal and Thrive Fund Chair
Dear Parents and Carers,
Each year in June we write to you, our families, to ask you to consider donating to our Thrive Fund.
Donations to the Thrive Fund support Northcote High students in three different ways. They allow us to fund innovative programs (INNOVATE), improve school spaces and resources (INSPIRE / BUILD) and to provide our students, including those in need, with opportunities that would not otherwise be possible (EMPOWER).
Many of us are still feeling the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic that challenged us, socially, emotionally and financially in 2020 and beyond, and we understand that many of you are not in the position to make a donation this year. That is fine. However, we have also been overwhelmed by the number of families who have been able to generously make a donation this year. Thus far (YTD April), we have already received a total of $114,250 in donations to the Thrive Fund.
Given this, we wanted to write to families for two reasons:
Also, we didn’t want to waste an opportunity to say thank you and to let you know about some of the great stuff that the Thrive Fund has been up to lately…
Finally, we are delighted to have received $8.007 million in the 2021/22 State Budget to continue the redevelopment of our school buildings, beginning with Stage 1 of the Masterplan, a 3 storey building. Contributions to the Build Fund can support adding features that increase the scope and quality of the new facilities. Build Funds were used to enhance the new Performing Arts and Senior Study Centre in 2019/20.
Further information on each of the Thrive Funds and how to donate can be found by clicking each of the tabs to your left. Please remember, we welcome any donation, large or small, that you are able to make to our school.
Thank you again for your ongoing support,
Sue Harrap Liza Grage-Perry
