CONFIRMATION
Congratulations to all of the candidates who received the Sacrament of Confirmation over the weekend. The children answered strongly and knowledgeably when they met with the Bishop on Friday afternoon. The Bishop commented at both Masses how confidently the candidates stood when their names were called, displaying their eagerness to show others they had been called by God. Both Masses were wonderful celebrations of the next stage in the faith journey of these young people. A huge thank you to the staff involved in preparing all of the candidates and arranging the myriad of details for such celebrations. It was lovely to see the candidates supported by so many family members. We look forward to seeing the Gifts of The Holy Spirit manifest in these young people.
The St Mary's candidates were:-
Jack Abbott Forster Adams
Jacob Ahern Isabelle Bradford
Johanna Chin Rory Clynch
Addison Diefenbach Bryen Flick
Charlotte Harris Alice Hayes
Sam Lawry Richard May
Dominic Miller Indianna Moy
Ranier Pabalan Jack Pearson
Joachim Rice Isaac Rogers

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
Yesterday saw the beginning of our Catholic Schools Week, coinciding with celebrations of 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia. It was also the Feast Day of our Patron Saint - Our Lady Help of Christians. We began our school celebrations with a quick assembly where the children and staff received their Bicentenary badges and a prayer card. We all prayed the prayer together the national bicentenary prayer. We were blessed to be able to take Year 6 to be a part of the National School Mass for the Bicentenary of Catholic Education in Australia. This Mass was attended by schools from across our diocese and many special guests. Marisa Suluma sang the Responsorial Psalm, something she has never done before, and touched everyone with her beautiful, prayerful vocals. Dominic Miller and Lachlan Wanschers served on the altar confidently.
