Mrs Ross and Mr Norrie
The term is disappearing quickly! We have been busy in all learning areas and are pleased with the children's efforts and achievements. In Religious Education we are completing our unit on Easter, this unit focuses on the celebration of Easter and the Mission of the Catholic church as it celebrates and responds to God’s Word.
We have been continuing to learn about different reading strategies, including 'Finding the Main Idea' and 'Determining Importance', to help us understand the text. Both strategies support our writing texts this term as well - Explanations and Information Reports. The children have completed their own explanations about how the sun, moon, and earth interact. We are impressed with their efforts!
We have been enjoying Mr Jay Stone's visits, sharing his athletic expertise. The children have participated well in all activities and have seemed enthusiastic and confident about each event.
We would like to thank Ms. Sara McNeall for her extensive preparation of the children for the Eisteddfod this week. The children are always so well prepared and always make St Mary's proud!
The children will be attending an illustrator's visit this week. Ms. Sandy Flett will be sharing her experiences, with the children and, will no doubt, inspire lots of budding artists. We appreciate this experience for all the children.
Thank you for another week of crunches, lunches, jumpers and backpacks! The children are working well and continue to help both teachers smile, laugh and look forward to each day.
