NAPLAN
Congratulations to all students in Year 3 for sitting their first NAPLAN assessments over the past two weeks. Students undertook assessments in Writing, Reading, Language Conventions and Numeracy. We know you all gave your personal best.
English
We have been diving back into the world of Narrative writing this week, with students focusing on developing engaging settings and interesting characters in imaginative texts. The children have been focusing on writing paragraphs which explore the five senses to really capture their reader in the beginning of their pieces, with some amazing results!
Eisteddfod
Congratulations to Stage 2 on an incredible performance at the Eisteddfod! Years 3 and 4 sang beautifully and are to be highly commended. We hope you were able to see the students shine in their performance, either at the Eisteddfod or at our school concert on Thursday.
Science
In Science, the students have been exploring the different ways we can classify living things, such as by characteristics, habitat or animal kingdom. It has been fascinating to learn new information about animals in our world! We put on our taxonomist hats this week and studied similarities and differences between animals, working out how we might classify a new animal quickly.
Religion
We are almost halfway through our unit on Easter! Students have been reflecting upon the importance of the celebration of Easter in the Church and how the risen Jesus is present with us in our lives.
