New Faces at BHCS

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year?

I will be bus driving morning and afternoon and I will be helping out the maintenance team with maintenance around the school grounds in the middle part of the day.

I am excited to meet new  people and establish relationships. I am also excited about being a part of BHCS and it’s future and my contribution to it.

What did you do previously?

I was a maintenance officer at Maranatha Christian School, collectively for 17 years over a 22 year period.  For 5 years full time we purchased 2 houses bringing men off the streets for the sake of the Gospel, using this as a platform to build relationship and to teach life skills in a safe environment.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love my family and my 3 grandchildren, (they keep me young at heart) to hang out with them is amazing and my own kids too, oh and my wife as well (LOL).

We like to travel, camp, discover new places for the first time, and to contribute and enjoy our church community and extended family.

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year?

My role at BHCS is a Learning Assistant in Year 9. I am excited to dive into the secondary school environment and to get to know the students, staff and all of the BHCS community.

What did you do previously?

I was a Learning Assistant at St. Thomas More Primary School in Belgrave, ranging from Prep to Year 4.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love to spend time with my family, such as going on a date night with my husband and playing board games with my kids. I also love socializing, usually when my kids have playdates. I also have 'playdates' with the mums.

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year?

I have the blessing of working as a Learning Assistant for the Year 8's.

I can't wait to get to know the school and all the wonderful people in it.

What did you do previously?

I've done (and will still be doing) study at Deakin University, hoping to be qualified as a Secondary teacher.

As a Learning Assistant I've worked at Marrara Christian College, all the way up in Darwin!

What do you like to do for fun?

Most of my free time is spent talking to my friends and family, and playing PC games of all kinds.

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year?

My role at Belgrave Heights is as a Learning Assistant for the Senior School, which covers mostly Year 9 and 10 classes and a little bit of Year 11s.  I am excited about getting to know the students and helping them gain more confidence in who they are as people as they gain more understanding and skills with their school work.

What did you do previously?

My previous role was as a TESOL Teacher, i.e. teaching English to migrants, with Springvale Neighbourhood House.

What do you like to do for fun?

Until recently, I have been playing basketball for a regular ladies team at Dandenong Basketball Stadium which I enjoyed.  I also know Auslan, the deaf sign language and can use it when talking to deaf people.
