Ping Pong-A-Thon

THANK YOU!

By Lance Davidson (Deputy Principal)

On Thursday 15th September, the school banded together to join the fight against child slavery. Each year, since 2016, BHCS has made the choice to support the work done by a number of organisations, associated with the PONG, that are doing all they can to give children a better life.

Staff and students put on their favourite 80's wear, fluro colours, leg warmers, head bands and the like, and took to the table tennis tables, to participate in the major fundraiser for the year.

The day was filled with opportunities to be reminded of the importance of each individual's life and the opportunities that we might take for granted that others around the world may miss out on.

The staff, students and parent community joined together over breakfast, lunch and dinner, and many hard-fought games of table tennis. Student vs student, staff vs student, parent vs child, staff vs past student, the battles on the tables raged thick and fast.

A highlight for the day, once again, was the Ladies High Tea. Over 70 women from within our community were served a delicious high tea, and reminded of how much we value them. Olivia W (past student) performed for the women, who were served by a group of senior students and staff.

There were a number of opportunities to donate money to this cause, including the online Hamper auction, as we aimed to raise $10,000 for 2022. A massive thank you to all those who contributed as they were able, leading to over $45,000 being raised. The generosity of some has really blown us away, and will make a significant difference to the lives of many.
