Year 5 Servant Leadership Day
On Thursday 5th October Year 10 students from St Peters College visited St Agatha's for the day to lead a Servant Leadership Program with all our Year 5 students. The Year 10 students organised the activities including prayer, scripture stories, a drawing response focusing on leadership and games.
It was amazing to see the engaging student interaction and relationships that developed throughout the day and the connections of servant leadership between all the students. This event starts the student Leadership Program for our Year 5 students as they seek Year 6 leadership positions for 2023. Student feedback from our Year 5 students was fantastic!
After such long COVID restrictions it is wonderful to re-establish programs such as the Servant Leadership Program with an emphasis on faith, leadership, student voice and cross age engagement.
We thank St Peter's College and the Year 10 students and look forward to continuing such important events.
Socktober 2022
We were blessed with perfect weather for our SOCKTOBER soccer event on Monday. Thank you to all the parents, students and classes who made sockballs just for the event. They were well used and the quality of the balls was amazing! They came in all sorts of shapes and sizes and there was lots of learning about design in the process!
Each class level participated in a sockball soccer session hosted by our Mini Vinnie Year 6 Leaders. The emphasis was on fun and celebrating Catholic Mission Week with a purpose. The students' faces were beaming and there was plenty of laughter and co-operation as the students took part in the structured activities organised by the Year 6 students. Thank you to everyone in our school community for your support and thanks to the MIni VinnieYear 6 Leaders for your student voice and leadership.
SOCKTOBER is also about raising money for Catholic Missions. We raised $283.65 from the SOCKTOBER event and 100% of the funds will be sent to Catholic Missions to support Ethiopian Farmers build and sustain their own goat farms for their communities. This is social justice in action and our students learnt a great deal about giving and gratitude from this event. Well done and thank you! Many students donated their balls to the PE department and Mr V will be using them in lessons!
Yours in faith
