Banksia

Thanks for another incredible term in Banksia Place! To celebrate the learning and achievements of our students, we have included some of our favourite memories together that highlight the incredible learning that students have engaged in throughout term 3. Thank you to our students for all of the effort you put in this term and thank you to our families for your support as we learn and grow together. We hope you have a wonderful school holidays and we look forward to welcoming you back to Banksia Place on Monday, October 3.

In Banksia we spent some time in the PMP (perceptual motor program) room near the gym. We tried to build on our teamwork skills and practiced our hand-eye coordination and worked on developing our gross motor skills (large muscle development).

We wrote stories and shared them with our grades. We also cut and pasted the recipe for chocolate crackles and placed each step in the correct order.

We also looked at patterns in shape and colour using Lego and play dough for maths. This included using measurements to make a healthy version of chocolate crackles with bananas and berries. They were delicious.

Congratulations to Ayse whose story “The Brave Princess Petals” has been submitted to the Young Writer’s Fiction in the Katherine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre writing competition.  Here’s the front page. The story will be available across the school shortly!
