Book Week 2022
Book Week 2022

End of Term 3.

I can’t believe that I am writing the above heading already. This term has certainly flown by. It is lovely to walk around our beautiful school and feel some warmth from the sun and see the flowers blooming.

We are continuing to advertise for staff, so that we can enrol more students. I have taken many interested families on a tour of our school. These occur on Wednesdays at 10.30am. The feedback that I have taken away from this is how beautiful our new school is. My reply to this is that while it is lovely having shiny new buildings, it is what is inside that counts the most and that is your children and our dedicated staff that work with them.

On the 24th of August we celebrated book week. It was lovely to see so many children dressed as their favourite book character. As you will see form the photo above, the staff joined in with enthusiasm also.

On Saturday 3rd September we had our first ever working bee. I would like to thank the families and staff who came to assist us. We managed to clean the gutters in the carpark, removing the leaf debris. The sand and tanbark was returned to its rightful place in the playgrounds. We enjoyed a lovely sausage sizzle cooked on our new BBQ. I would like to thank our wonderful cleaner Teuta who generously provided the sausages and bread for all our volunteers.

On Tuesday, the students enjoyed a visit from 2 of our local police members Allan and Amy. The students and staff were able to try on the protective high vis vest and a police hat. Some students chose to go and look at the police car. They were even able to sit inside and see the flashing lights. We are aiming to make these visits a regular occurrence to build positive relationships between the students and the police.

Thank you to those families that have already paid the voluntary contribution fees (school fees). A reminder was sent to families this week. If you are able to pay these fees it would be appreciated. The money is used to provide resources and equipment to support your child’s education.

I would like to wish Caroline, our Allied Health Team Leader, all the best for her upcoming wedding in the holidays.

I hope that you all have a safe and happy term break. We look forward to seeing the children on Monday 3rd October.
