Eastern Regional Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 20th October, 3 students from Years 3 - 6 competed at the Eastern Metropolitan Region Athletics Carnival at the Doncaster Athletics Track. These students competed in individual events after placing 1st or 2nd at both the District and Division levels.

Our  students did an amazing job on the day, placing in 3rd and 4th places for events such as Long Jump, Shot Put and Triple Jump.

Well done to all students on their fantastic efforts! To be part of the top students in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne is no feat. Congratulations!

Regional All Stars Hoop Time Competition

Our Year 5/6 Boys All Star Basketball Team competed at the Regional Competition at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium on Monday 17th October. The boys team qualified for this event after their amazing performance at the 5/6 Hoop Time day held back in Term 3.

The boys team played very well throughout the day but unfortunately didn't progress through to the finals. A huge thank-you to Andrew (Finn 6LK) and the other wonderful parents for transporting, coaching, scoring and supporting our teams on the day. We are very proud of our Boys All Stars Basketball Team!

Whole School Swimming Program

All students from Foundation to Year 6 have taken part in our annual swimming program at Nunawading Swim School. This program is a vital component of the Physical Education and Health Curriculum, as all children need to have the skills and safety awareness when around water. I'm hoping that you had frequent discussions with your child to hear what they were practicing.

Thanks to all of the wonderful parents over the two weeks who volunteered their time to ensure that this program was run successfully!

Year 5/6 PE - SEPEP

If your child is in Year 5 or 6, they might have come home talking about how they are taking part in SEPEP. SEPEP stands for Sport Education in Physical Education Program and is where the students are separated into teams and they amicably decide who within their team will be the coach, captain, publicity officer, event coordinator/team manager, timekeeper/scorer and referee. Over a four week period, we will be playing games of soccer/futsal where students are required to perform their role so the program can work successfully. If your child is in Year 5 or 6, make sure you ask them what their current role is and what their responsibilities are when performing this task.
