Staffing Announcements

Congratulations to Elani Gibney who has commenced her role as teacher of the Year 2C class. She replaces Hadyn Thompson who has taken up a position at Wattle Park Primary School.

The appointment process for two Classroom Teacher positions has been completed and I am pleased to announce the reappointment of both Jacqui Sampson and Jacinda Milczakowsky for a further twelve months.

The appointment process for two Leading Teacher positions is currently underway with shortlisting and interviews taking place this week. The new positions supersede the current Leading Teacher positions. These two new positions are identified as:

  • Leading Teacher – Curriculum and Pedagogy (Student Data Analysis/Improved Student Learning)
  • Leading Teacher – Curriculum and Pedagogy (Council of International Schools Accreditation Co-ordinator)

A number of additional Classroom Teacher positions have also been advertised in anticipation of school needs for 2016.

Elise Cooper - Congratulations

Elise Cooper will be leaving Ormond at the end of 2015 to take a teaching position in the Northern Territory Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic School (OLSHTCS) is located at Wadeye (Port Keats) about 400kms south-west of Darwin. Wadeye is an Indigenous community of 2500 people drawn from twenty clan groups and make up three broad ceremonial groups across an extensive geographical area known as the Thamarrurr region. OLSHTCS is a bi-lingual school where instruction in the first three years of schooling is in the student's first language, Murrinhpatha.

We wish Elise every success in this venture. The experiences that she will gain will enable her to develop her teaching skills and build community connections.

Henry Vu has been appointed as the new TSSP replacing Lasith Fernando. Henry is working three days each week at Brighton Secondary College and he will now also be working at Ormond each Thursday.
