During the week of work experience I worked at Hampton veterinary Hospital. I chose to work there because I love animals and aspire to work in that field for the future. I enjoyed the experience highly as I had the chance to observe many operations. This was very fascinating and interesting to witness, I also was surprised I was able to stomach the blood and gore. I watched a dog get desexed, I saw a female reproductive system first hand which was very fascinating. I also got to walk a dog called Bailey which was fun for me as well as going into consultant rooms with customers. Overall the experience made me want to become a vet even more which is what I wished to gain from the experience. I was able to notice how rewarding of a job it would be and I received a lovely reference for future jobs from one of the doctors.

Thank you Miss Dim for letting us have this opportunity.

My Work Experience was really fun, it was a very close and personal experience as at BeautyMedix there was only 2 people that worked therefore, I gathered new friendships and got to experience how close the Margie and Helena are to the customers. At BeautyMedix I learnt good customer service skills, I learnt in depth about what products are needed for certain types of skin and what techniques are used to provide a good treatment. I liked how personal everyone's treatments were and how they actually focus on your skin concerns and not just getting you in and out they actual treat what you want and what they think is good for you, the one thing I didn't like is that they weren't very busy that week so therefore I did not get to see a lot of the treatments in action and properly watch people get treatments. I left work experience wanting to continue in the beauty field and was recommenced to go to a college called "elly lukas" after I'm finished with Year 12.

For work experience, I attended tennis coaching. I gave advice to little kids and played with more advanced players. I made relationships with the other coaches which improved my communication and social skills. My work experience consisted of coaching different age groups which taught me how to interact with different people. I also developed my independent and leadership skills because I was instructed to run drills and exercises and had to interact with the students in the correct way, keeping them motivated and improving.  I liked how I got experience in a variety of different age groups and it really developed my social skills, however, sometimes I would be treated as a player instead of a coach since there was an odd number of players in some groups. Overall, I feel the experience was definitely beneficial for my social skills and I learned a lot of new things. Tennis coaching could substitute for a great casual/part time job; however, it wouldn’t be a good fit for a full time job

Throughout my time at the architecture firm I attended I discovered how to use a program called Revit. I also developed knowledge on construction and how a house is built and all the fine details that are not normally thought about. At my time there I became friendly with the other workers there and I found it easy to talk them and ask questions about the tasks. I enjoyed designing a house for a client and creating floor plans and exteriors. I found because I was completing the work at a fast rate I was bored at times because there was not as much work to do. Last week confirmed that I do want to do this type occupation in the future.

Thank you for organising this program,

During my week doing work experience, some of skills I learnt were socialising  with costumers and learning how to scan products that don’t have price tags as an example. I got to know the staff at rebel well, as they are very friendly people and very welcoming and after speaking with them for a bit my nerves calmed down and the rest of the week was very enjoyable. The only thing I disliked about my experience there was at times I did very boring jobs like pump balls for a couple of hours or put zip ties on a pair of shoes that were going on their clearance rack. I liked everything else about my week and was good experience to work in retail.
