We’re nearing the end of a wonderful year and we thought we’d reflect on what a year it’s been. We’ve had lots of amazing additions to our program this year. This included Science club, cooking club (three days a week), art therapy, Sewing club, gardening club and drama club. The clubs are run by our talented educators who bring their experience and education into the program. Not only are we qualified early childhood educators, teachers and pre-service teachers, we are also privileged (to have in our mix) professional actors, athletes, IT professionals and dancers!

This year we are also responded actively to hundreds of student ideas. This included everything from “excursions to the park” to “I want to pat a crocodile”. We had hundreds of conversations. Our curriculum is based on the pedagogy that everything is an opportunity to learn. We talked about such things as climate change, architecture, space travel, body safety, cyber-safety, nutrition and art. Our children our worldly citizens and we hope their time with us has made them better persons. This is what it is to be an NQS rated exceeding service.

We are already preparing for next year! Please let us know if there is anything you loved about the program or you would like to see added. We love hearing feedback from parents and carers. You are welcome anytime to spend time with your children in the program and join in the fun.

All day OSHC (curriculum day) Thursday 12th December

Bookings are still open. Please select the roll on the MFL app and choose the date Thursday 12th December. Please see email sent to all enrolled families for further details. We will be running a full day of activities that will include cooking, an excursion to Yakai Barri, lots of games and arts and craft. All food will be included and we may have a special Christmas treats!

Early finish time Friday 20th December.

Please note that school finishes on the last day at 1.30pm. OSHC will run from 1.30pm – 6pm. Last day of school fees will apply $32 (less CSS).

Message from OSHC Committee in response to the 2019 OSHC Survey – What should be the closing time for After School Care?

The survey is still open for your input. Please sign off which closing time you recommend OSHC should have for 2020 in the sign in area. Please note that an increase in time (i.e. 6.30pm) will mean a small fee increase for next year.

OSHC fees for 2020

We are happy to announce that we will be freezing fees for 2020. However, there has been a change in our “Late Cancellation Policy”. To date, a reduction in fee (in other words, a "late cancellation" fee) has been applied when a casual booking or a permanent booking is cancelled after 6pm for a Before School Care place the next morning, or after 9:30am for an After School Care place on the same day (the set times).

However, we have found that this policy does not allow us adequate time to make appropriate adjustments to the staff roster and food catering commensurate with any reduced enrolment numbers per session, and therefore avoid incurring unnecessary costs. For this reason, as of the January the 1st 2020, the "Late Cancellation" fee policy will no longer apply. Any cancellation made after the set times will be charged the full booking amount. To avoid a late cancellation fee, please cancel your child's booking through the My Family Lounge app before the set times.
