The Victorian lock-down has not stopped the students in 3-6 at our college from being the awesome people that they are. The teachers are all so proud of their students as they slip seamlessly into remote learning 2.0 and get on with the job of learning. .

Staying Connected

With the use of WebEx, the teachers and students in 3-6 have been able to stay connected while keeping apart. Students across the college are checking in daily with their teachers and classmates and being part of community circles. Students are also accessing WebEx for lessons, small group work or conferencing with their teacher. We’ve even had some excursions via WebEx!

A Community of Readers and Writers

The 3-6 students have continued their focus on nonfiction texts. We have been practising skills such as skimming and scanning, using text clues to solve new vocabulary words and using text structures and features to help us understand what we are reading. We have also been writing nonfiction texts in the form of explanation writing.

We are able to put these skills into our other work in other subjects.

Health

Our Berry Street work remains a focus across the 3-6 community at every campus. Our students continue to practice the skills of self regulation, mindfulness, self awareness and the ability to tap into their positive emotions.

Science

Even remote learning won’t stop the students in 3-6 from conducting science experiments. From using force to lightening things up, physical science remains one of our favourite subjects as experiments of all shapes and sizes emerge from our homes.

MY SUPER SIZED ROBOT

This fantastic robot has awesome up-to-date features. This I created took a few minutes to draw. My robot is also waterproof and it comes with its own hoverboard. And it makes drinks for you and your friends read further to find out more.

My robot works by the sun and it has a solar panel on its chest that is how my robot works.

The solar panel works by the sunlight that activates the panels and the cells produce the electricity current to help my robot charge up.

My robot also has a battery on its left leg which is connected to a circuit to help my robot move on his hoverboard.

There is also a small motor which is a small switch on his back to help him work. Under his boots there is a hoverboard to help him move around in the yard.

My fantastic robot is a great product you should buy it and it has a five star review⭐️

Drinkalier

the Drinkalier
the Drinkalier

The drinkalier is like a chandelier but when you're thirsty you can grab whatever drink you want. But have you ever wondered how it works?

Well let me tell you. First off, it has a tiny circuit inside so then the levers

will work the way they are supposed to. Then it has a little string attached

to it so you can pull it down and get your drink.(It will pull up by itself.)

Connected to the ball is two containers that look like one container. Then

on your containers are levers to pull so you can open little doors to get your

drinks out of the containers. But of course, it needs electricity.

But on top of all that, it has disco lights! So when you're having a party you

can make it more fun! But it also has Bluetooth so you can connect your

device to it and play music.

I have now told you how it works, how you use it and the accessories you

can add to it. I also have a glossary so you can know what some words

mean.

Glossary

Electricity: a form of energy resulting from the existence of charged

particles.

Pressure: using a lot of force against something.

Glossary: telling you what the meaning is for a specific word. The 3-6 NBC team.

And a presentation made by Koben on Electricity

We hope you enjoy the photos, videos and work samples supplied by our wonderful 3-6 students.
