Joy as St Anne's derby reunites families

There was joy on the pitch last Saturday as the St Anne's U7 teams played each other and saw each other for the first time after a long stint of distance learning, followed by the holiday break.  It was a happy reunion of children and parents on a beautiful sunny morning at Shepparton Sports City and what a great game it was!  The Shepparton Junior Soccer Association season resumed on September 26 after COVID restrictions were eased in regional Victoria, and will continue until the end of the month with two gala weekends held on October  17 and 18 and October 24 and 25. This means that games will be played on the Saturday and Sunday of these two weekends, with the St Anne's U7 teams as well as the U6 team participating.

A reminder to families that the SJSA's COVID-19 Safety Policy remains in place:

  • Only parents and siblings are permitted to attend matches (no grandparents, or other – the exception is if they bring the player in lieu of the parents, no friends or other acquaintances and no club affiliates).
  • Family groups must stand together.
  • Family groups must socially distance – a distance of at least 1.5 metres must be maintained at all times.
  • All individuals 12 years of age and above must wear a mask at all times – no mask, no attendance – players may remove their mask when they enter the field of play.
  • Anyone experiencing respiratory symptoms must not attend the venue.
