Science News

This week we say goodbye to our HSC Science students.

Over the last two years, Mr. Lawler, Mr. Marshall, and Ms. Davis have worked closely with these young men and women to help them achieve their very best in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

We would like to congratulate these students on their results in the Trial HSC examinations and their fantastic overall assessment marks. Stage Six Science is no easy feat, and so the student's hard work is reaping rewards.

For the HSC class of 2020, we would like to stell them to keep going. This has been a year like no other, but their determination, their work ethic and their sense of humour will continue to get them through. We are not in the final stretch, so continue to practice exam questions, study hard, and be kind to yourselves.

Our Year 11 Science students are currently completing their Preliminary exams. For many of our students, this will be the first big test of their knowledge. We hope that they do their best, but also use this as an opportunity for growth. The Chemistry exam was on Tuesday, while Physics and Biology are next week. Good luck to all.

Year 9 have been studying ecosystems and ecology. 9.4 spent time doing ecological survey methods up the hill, counting birds, weeds, plant colonies and counting scat.  9.2 have been exploring food webs using escape rooms for an extra challenge.
