As we find ourselves back to remote learning, it also means that sport is not running. I encourage you all to get out and get some fresh air and keep yourself moving.
Virtual Track and Field
School Sports Victoria have launched a Virtual Track and Field on the SSV website & social media channels. There are great events on offer and participating students are eligible to win some prizes.
The Virtual Track and Field offers a selected number of disciplines. Inspired by Olympians, Team Vic Alumni and SSV Ambassadors:>> Sprints: (60m, 80m, 100m, 200m, 400m)>> Run or walk: (800m, 1500m)>> Jumps: (standing long jump and standing triple jump)>> Throw: (tennis ball shotput)>> Combined event: 100m sprint, standing long jump, tennis ball shotput and 800m run.

Sports Captains
At the start of this year I called for applications for team sports that we would be competing in as a school against other secondary schools in our area. These positions were going to be announced at the final assembly in Term 1, however remote learning 1.0 started and so there was no assembly and the focus was on getting the staff and students transitioned into remote learning in a short space of time. It was then decided that even though the sad reality is that we will not be participating in any school team sports, these students should still be recognized. We had planned to announce at the August live assembly, again we went into remote learning with very little notice.
All these students are well deserving of their captaincy. They have proven over their time at Monivae and in their chosen sport, that they have great leadership qualities and would have led their team well this year. Congratulations to the following students:

- Netball – Indi Ryan
- Shooting – Harry Clark and Bryce Bygate
