Welcome back to school everyone!!!

Students are happy and excited to be back at school and so are staff!! 

It is wonderful to see students enjoying the company of their friends! It seems that everyone has had a growth spurt since they were last at school…amazing!! 

 

A highlight this week has been the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program which has allowed students to enjoy learning in the new Kids Kitchen and flourishing garden.

 

As always the priority in the kitchen and garden is everyone’s health and wellbeing! This term we have important kitchen health and safety reminders to learn and follow. The kitchen lesson this week has been ‘preparing a healthy sandwich’, a nice simple one to start the term as students become familiar with the new hygiene practices.

Springtime is a busy time in the garden! We have lots of produce to cultivate and seedlings to plant including tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, lettuce and capsicum! Students are reminded to wear their hats and sunscreen during these warmer months of the year.

Middle Years Sub School News

In Week 2, we have seen virtually all of our students returning to onsite learning AND in a very positive manner. It has been terrific to see students happily engaging with each other, their teachers and staff, and engaging with their learning and our range of facilities.

 

We look forward to helping our students settle further into their routines and shine in their success at school.

Secondary Sub School News

Our students have come back full of confidence and excitement this week, which has been great to see. We have hit the ground running with regular classroom activities, Stephanie Alexander’s Kitchen Garden program and the VCAL Car Wash.  The VCAL car wash will take place on Monday and Tuesday of Week 3 for all staff members, and it is the VCAL project for 2020!

In the coming weeks you all will receive information regarding Secondary and Senior Secondary information sessions. They will be pre-recorded by staff at JSA and shared with you all. We want you all to know exactly what programs are going to be available to your children in 2021. Have a great weekend.
