Welcome back to onsite learning.

Week one of term four was a busy one, with many staff returning to school to organise their classrooms and teacher aides preparing resources for on site learning to commence on Monday 12/10/2020. It has been so wonderful to have a school full of students again. Parents, teachers and students have done their best during the remote and flexible learning period, but the return to onsite learning is a welcome outcome for the rest of term four. Students have come back to school happy to be back with their peers and ready for learning.

Book Week for 2020 was postponed until October and now we are back on site we can celebrate and participate in some of the usual activities we would usually ask students to participate in. Unfortunately we will not be able to have a costume parade or the book fair this year due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, we would like all students to dress up as their favourite book character on Thursday 22nd of October.

Personal Learning Support Plan Goals

On the last day of term three, all families should have received an emailed report of their child's PLSP goals. These goals were written after teachers completed assessments of students current abilities and ascertained where each student needed to move to next, in order to progress through the curriculum. These goals will be reported on at the end of the year. Some families reported that they were unable to open their emailed files. Please contact the school if you had any problem opening the PLSP file and we will send you an additional copy. If you were one of the affected families we apologise for any inconvenience, and ask you to bear with us while we transition to online reporting and sort out the glitches.

Teacher professional learning

This term, the classroom teachers will be participating in peer observation. Peer observation is an important part of professional practice for teachers. It facilitates professional conversations about effective teaching practice and about how students learn best. During the Professional Learning Community meetings, teachers will be pairing up and collaboratively planning lessons. These lessons will be implemented and recorded and each teacher will observe each other's recorded lesson. An opportunity for feedback to improve teaching and learning will follow the observation of the lesson. This will be the focus in our PLCs for the first half of term four.
