Catholic Identity

Mercy Prayer
We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at St. Mary’s.
It is through their vision, determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.
We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.
Birthday of Mary, the Mother of Jesus and School Feast Day - Tuesday 8th September.
Last week we celebrated Mary’s birthday. We are proud to attend a School named after Mary, where her example of living the Gospel values of love, forgiveness, understanding and respect are taught and lived every day.
Classes planned many special activities to celebrate our school feast day from planting seeds, making and decorating cupcakes, making birthday cards, songs, dance moves and games etc.
Congratulations to everyone on the way you celebrated an ISO Feast Day.

Sacraments update -
Baptism - The next parent information meeting for the Sacrament of Baptism at St. Mary’s has been scheduled for Tuesday 13th October at 7pm in the Church. Further information and dates for baptism ceremonies will be discussed at this meeting. Any parents wishing to have their child(ren) baptised in the coming months are urged to attend this meeting and must also notify the Parish House of their intention.
Eucharist - Children who are planning to make their first Eucharist this year may be able to start the home program at the beginning of Term Four, as it does not involve any group meetings other than work in your own home. We would be planning for the ceremony to take place in term Four over a couple of masses. Further updates to come.
Confirmation – This Sacrament is still planned for Grade Six in Term Four. This will be celebrated by Monsignor Peter as the Bishop is not doing any of these visits this year.
