Winter Magic Market

Our Annual Winter Magic Market is a special event that brings our whole school community together for a moment of warmth, celebration, creativity and connection. As with any school community event, we could not have a Winter Magic Market without tremendous support from the community who volunteer their time, expertise and energy. Many hands make light work, so we ask that all families consider how they can contribute to this special day.

Looking for Leaders

We are still looking for volunteers to help coordinate a few individual stalls. Coordinators will work with the school and will be provided with guidance and a contact point at the school. Coordinators are not expected to work the whole day, but might be involved in meetings and liaising with the school in the lead up to Saturday 12th August.

Currently we are still looking for people who feel they might enjoy one of the following roles:

  • Decorations Dignitaries… we are looking for people who would like to flex their craft muscles by adding colour and life to our undercover area
  • Bar Bosses… we are looking for energetic folk who like a fast paced and social atmosphere with some experience of a working bar. Those with RSAs are particularly sought after!
  • Barbecue Beauties… burned buns beware! We are looking for a couple of people who would be happy to coordinate the purchasing of supplies for our BBQ stalls
  • Pancake Practitioners… know how to make a good batter? Feeling flippy? We are looking for people to coordinate supplies and make batter for the pancake stall
  • Baked Spud Superstars… one of our most recent and most popular food stalls, we need someone to coordinate the purchasing of supplies for our spuds
  • Disco Dancing Delights… the kiddies just love a dance at the disco! We are looking for someone to help arrange playlists and set up the space (decor has been provided)

Thank you to all the people who have volunteered to help lead other aspects of the market. If you are interested in leading one of the above areas, please contact Ange at ange.hopkins@education.vic.gov.au or call/drop by the front office.

Letterbox Drop

Last year we did not advertise our market - we were keeping things small as everyone spread their wings post-pandemic. This year, we would love to invite our closest neighbours through a letterbox drop. We are seeking families who would like to take a small bundle of flyers and distribute them into letterboxes in our local area. It is a wonderful opportunity to walk with kids, the dog and/or the ferret and spread the word about our magical market!

If you would like to help with our letterbox drop, please collect flyers and a map from the school office.

WMM Roster

A roster will soon be made available for grown ups to volunteer a shift at the Winter Magic Market. Signing up for a two hour shift will give you a prime position to see the joy our market can foster and to make some fantastic friends from within and across the community.
