The semi-finals are upon us and congratulations to all the teams who have progressed to this stage. Please note that teams who were in 5 team competitions: 1st place progresses straight to the grand finals whilst 2nd plays 3rd to make it to the next stage.
Rules for the semi and grand finals are that if scores are level at the end of full time, 2 x 5 minutes of extra time will be played. If scores are still level at the end of this, then it will go to penalties.
A big thank you to all the coaches who have concluded their time with their teams. It is a big commitment of time and effort so that the students of St Pius X College get this football opportunity.
Good luck to all teams.

16A Football team
Last Saturday, the 16A Football team wrapped up their regular season games with a 4-0 victory at Oxford Falls and secured their place in the finals. Goals from Josh, Flynn, Christo and a long range screamer from Ryan helped them to a 3rd place finish. They are scheduled to play Oakhill this Saturday for a place in the grand final.
All the best, boys!

Football Supporters Club
This week, our Coaches and Football Staff have each received a bottle of wine and a thank you note from our football supporter community. The wines were generously donated for this purpose by the Graham Family.
Thank you to Mr Ronchetti, Mr Stearn, Mr Ryan, Mr Yue and all of our football coaches for your efforts to provide our football players with a quality football program this year. The time you all spent planning the football season and getting out on the field to train, encourage and coach our boys, is very much appreciated.
Thank you also for all the support and assistance you have given to the Football Supporters Club. We have enjoyed supporting the continued development of the football program alongside you.
Good luck to all teams playing in semi-finals this week!

Results 5 August
Last weekend marked the bittersweet conclusion of the ISA Tennis season for 2023.
With heartfelt appreciation, I would like to extend our gratitude to the incredible students, their supportive parents, and the dedicated guidance of Ms Barwick, Ms Colefax, and Mr Lee.
We wish our Year 12 students, some of whom have been a part of the program since Year 7, Anton Langreiter, Thomas Ryan, Jamie Leong, Venedict Valerio, Aiden Parsons, Angelo Bancale, and Christopher Elliot, the best in their future endeavours. The court won't be the same without your leadership.
Although our divisions did not qualify for the finals, our players were commended by all convenors for their brilliant sportsmanship and camaraderie throughout the season.
Please see the scores above for last week’s matches against St Augustine’s, Central Coast Grammar, and St Paul’s.

NSTA Tennis - summer season enrolments now open
Tennis anyone? NSTA TENNIS.
About NSTA, Enrolments for NSTA Tennis for both the Junior and Senior Schools & Grading
About
The Northern Suburbs Tennis Competition offers the chance for all our students to engage in a team sport, exercise their passion for tennis and to proudly represent our College. Whilst the NSTA competition may not be at the same competitive level as the ISA Tennis, there is plenty of competition in the rounds and the opportunity to keep match fit! As well, our College usually enters more teams than the other schools (Reddam, Redlands, Cammeraygal and Barker) which provides for some friendly in-house rivalry as Pius teams play Pius teams.
Whilst Junior School player have tennis training as part of their Thursday Sport, there is no training for the Senior School. Players are expected to organise their own coaching. Matches are played every Saturday from 8am-12pm, you will be allocated to a 2 hour timeslot (8:00 am to 10:00 am OR 10:00 am – 12:00 noon) depending on your ability level. All ability levels are invited to join, however, you must be able to serve.
The NSTA competition usually runs over 7 rounds in TERM 4 and over 7 Rounds in TERM 1, 2024. The competition will start for this year in Term 4, mid-October, and will end late November with Final and play-off matches. Players will play one 1 double and 1 single game for two player teams. However, for teams of three players, games are in rotation.
Games are commonly at Talus Street, Naremburn (our Homecourt), however, you may be required to play at Lane Cove, Neutral Bay, Roseville and Waitara (Barker) depending on the teams in your draw.
Enrolments
Please enrol your son for the NSTA Tennis season, TERM 4, 2023 and TERM 1, 2024 NSTA by completing this TRYBOOKING FORMby THIS Friday, the 11 AUGUST. No late enrolments will be taken. Please note also that this is two term commitment.
Grading
For the Senior School, there will be a GRADING SESSION on Saturday August 19, 2023 that is COMPULSORY if you wish to play in the NSTA competition. The grading will be conducted by EPS Sports at the QUEENWOOD TENNIS CENTRE, 1110 Oxford Falls Rd, Oxford Falls. Participants will be allocated to ONE grading sessions either:
