CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week the students have been learning about capacity and demonstrating their understanding of the topic,  using hands-on learning to show various volumes.  

VOCABULARY

Capacity: the maximum amount an object can hold. 

Maximum: the full amount an object can hold. 

Minimum: the least amount an object can hold. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to identify the capacity of various containers you have at home when preparing meals. 

“Can you describe the capacity for this tub of butter?”
