From the Principal

Again a warm welcome back to the term, I hope that students have enjoyed and been glad to be back at school after the extended mid-year break. The upcoming term provides much to look forward to – including a real focus on the Arts with the College production of The Addams Family, College Has Got Talent, and Senior School House Music

Tickets for The Addams Family are selling fast.  You can select your seats online via this link: https://tha.ac/theaddamsfamily

It is also very much the ‘premiership’ term academically as senior students begin the important run towards the end of their courses, and classes across the school enjoy a settled term allowing classroom and academic routines to return in full.

I would also like to use this week’s piece to announce that Deputy Principal - Learning and Teaching, Susan Bradbeer will be finishing at the College at the end of this year. Susan will be moving to Melbourne with her family in December. Her connection with the College has been a long and significant one, commencing as a Teacher Education Fellow in 2008, and subsequently holding roles including Head of English and her current role as Deputy Principal. Susan’s influence on the curriculum of the College and the professional learning and pedagogy of staff has been large. I thank her here for the many contributions she has made and for her unfailing attention to learning as the central purpose of our school.  We wish Susan, her husband Andrew, and daughter Amelia in Year 8, every happiness and success in the future.
