Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to our Year 4 students and teachers on a wonderful retreat day last Friday. The hall was buzzing with motivated and enthusiastic students working together and inquiring into how celebrating Eucharist nourishes our daily lives. Matt cooked bread and soup with the students and they then all sat in our wonderful cafe and enjoyed a meal together. Thank you to Kerry, Jess, Sarah and Matt on creating a really special occasion for our Year 4 students

I would also like to congratulate Dom Taylor on the wonderful work she is doing with Joey’s Nature Play group. We had 12 little ones here on Friday all enjoying our beautiful garden and grounds.

It is time to celebrate all that we do at St Joseph’s. We congratulate all of our staff on the excellent work they are doing in ensuring every student is working to their full potential.

Enrolments are open for 2024. The most effective marketing tool for schools is word of mouth so please spread the word about our wonderful learning opportunities, our positive and supportive community and the excellent growth we are making in our learning.

Joey’s Club is set to commence in August so please let any prospective parents know to come in and book a tour with our wonderful student leaders.

This term we are inquiring into and building the profile of what further dispositions and learning powers are student require to be effective learners at St Joseph’s. We have used the ELLI learning powers of collaboration, resilience, strategic awareness, making meaning, curiosity, creativity to be able to change and learn.

These learning powers build four dispositions- resilience, resourcefulness, reflection and reciprocity. We are inquiring into what else our students require to be effective learners and how we can use these dispositions to reach the highest standards of our brains muscle capacity to learning and make meaning.

We ask all parents to ensure they are working with their child at home completing math, fluency tasks and vocabulary work each week.   We also ask that you find time to sit with your child and read each night. If you are unable to read daily with your child we are here to support you.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to come in and hear students read or play math fluency games. If you or someone you know is able to volunteer please let our office staff know or email leadership@sjcribpoint.catholic.edu.au and we will provide you with training and support.

Please make sure if your child is away you ring the absentee line on 59839374 every morning your child is absent by 9am. Absenteeism will impact on your child’s growth and we urge you to ensure unless your child is ill they attend school every day.

Together we work to ensure the highest of standards across all areas of our school. Please do not hesitate to email me on principal@sjcribpoint.catholic.edu.au or ring and book a meeting with me if you would like to discuss any aspects of our school.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
