TCE August Exams
TCE August Exams run from Monday 7th August until Wednesday 16th August (inclusive). Students were given this information booklet last week, which contains all the information about the August exams, including the exam timetables. It is important that they familiarise themselves with this document and that they ensure they are on time for their exams. Students only need to come to school when they have an exam during this period but are welcome to come in and study in the library or Undercroft if they would like. Further information is available from Jane Morrison and classroom teachers.
Year 12 IBDP Mock Examinations
These will be held from August 7-16 inclusive. On Thursday, August 17, all Year 12 Visual Arts or Theatre students will have a 2-hour session - all other Year 12 IBDP students are not required to attend school on this day. All students were emailed a copy of the examination timetable and Group 6 2-hour blocks at the end of last term. Students are reminded that they only need to come to school when they have an examination during the examination period. They are, however, welcome to study in the library or undercroft during the examination period. It is very important that students are outside the examination room at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled examination to ensure that examinations can commence in a timely manner. Further information is available from Sarah Walker.
Year 7-12 House Aquatics Carnival
Friday 4 August - Hobart Aquatic Centre
The Year 7-12 Carnival will be held at the Hobart Aquatic Centre on Friday 4 August from 8.35am – 3.30pm. Students are to arrive no later than 8.35am and report to their House area – Unwin, Hodgkin, Mather or Ransom from the change room end of the centre. Students are to wear sports uniform to and from the pool. Parents are warmly invited to attend.
All High School students will be attending the carnival for the day. Should students be unable to swim they are encouraged to help out with service on the day. If a student is sick then parents will need to advise the school through the normal channels of a call or email through to the High School Office - 62102235.
Clemes students are strongly encouraged to attend and participate. Periods 1 and 2 at Clemes will be as normal. A bus will be available to transport Clemes students at 10.40am. Students need to sign up for the bus by Thursday 3 August on the electronic form emailed to them.
At the conclusion of the carnival at 3.30pm, students will need to have made their own travel arrangements home. Please be aware that traffic around the Aquatic Centre can be quite congested at this time. Arrangements have been made for students travelling on country buses.
Further information can be viewed here.
Computer Back Ups
All students have been reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure data is backed up from their laptop. TASC and the IBO do not accept computer malfunction as a valid reason for extension or other assessment consideration. Instructions have been emailed to students and can also be viewed in this video.
