Learning Diversity

Sunday the 30th of July was the National Day of Friendship.

The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. We step back and get thankful for these relationships worldwide, as they promote and encourage peace, happiness and unity.

This is a great day to be thankful for our own friendships as they also give us happiness and unity.  They give us a sense of belonging and purpose and prevent isolation and loneliness. Friends can also boost your happiness and reduce your stress.  Think of all the fun times you have had with your friends and I bet it brings a smile to your face.
