NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION WEEK

Monday 14th August - Sunday 20th August 2023

MEET HIRO

Harry is now known as Hiro (HONESTY, INTEGRITY, RESPECT AND OPTIMISM). A 16-year-old young man who spends his days educating the community and protecting civilians from people who try to bring them down. He promotes kindness and wants to partner with YOU to stand up for those who have been bullied and bring safety, respect and harmony to all lives.

At SoGS, we are encouraging our school community to wear a Splash of Orange in support of National Bullying Prevention Week.

The Splash of Orange  may include a scarf, beanie, mask, cape etc. Students are to wear their NORMAL school uniform on Friday 18th August with these add ons.  Please note this is NOT a casual clothes day.

Students will engage in learning activities over this week that will discuss topics such as:

  • Types of Bullying
  • What is Bullying?
  • How do we respond to Bullying?
  • What is an Upstander/ Bystander?
  • The power of our words and actions.
  • How can we all be Hiros using the Hiro model?

Every child deserves the best. And the best place for children is in a safe and supportive family, where they are nurtured to develop to their full potential.

Parenting education initiatives are created with the intention of assisting parents in comprehending the unique requirements and growth of their children. These programs aim to enhance parents and carers comprehension of their own duties and obligations by providing them with techniques and resources that strive to optimize favorable results for both families and children.

The following are a range of parenting programs and courses which are completely free. They are delivered both online, face to face and 1:1.
