Premier's Be Active Challenge

This is a reminder to families that the Premier's be active Challenge is still open and running.

The Premier's be active Challenge is a physical activity program introduced by the Premier in 2007 to:

  • Encourage students to be more active more often
  • Improve the health and wellbeing of South Australian students.

The Challenge requires students to do at least 60 minutes of physical activity on at least 5 days of the week for at least 4 weeks between the beginning of the school year and late September. After 4 weeks of daily physical activity, students will be rewarded with a medal. The challenge closes in Week 10 of term 3 so there is still plenty of time to complete it. If you do wish to complete the challenge, please find attached a copy of the recording booklet or visit the Pilgrim Front office to collect one. For more information on the challenge please visit the below website.

Pedal Prix

Campus Tornadoes, Race 4 – The Bend

Behind every good sporting team is a strong and committed support team.

This became even more evident at the most recent 8hr Pedal Prix Race at The Bend, Motorsport Park on the first weekend of August.

As a parent, this is not a spectator sport. Every parent was involved in the running of the team on race day. It was a hive of excitement, nerves, frustration, relief and pride amongst our riders and every parent was there on the day to encourage and support each challenge and celebrate every achievement. Parents were up before the sun, setting up our pits and team marquees. They were fixing trikes, supporting riders, picking up clothes off the floor, reminding riders to eat and drink. When the rain came down, the race kept going. Some parents stood out on the course marshalling and pushing trikes back on their wheels, they covered their wet timing sheets as they continued to yell encouragement from the pit wall. Every parent is valued, and every role is important. This is Pedal Prix!

Pedal Prix is a shining example of what ‘the Campus’ is all about. Parents and riders, past and present, representing the 3 schools, all coming together for a common cause, to offer our children a unique opportunity to thrive and grow in a supportive, yet challenging environment. Strong friendships are being forged, not just amongst the riders, but the families too.

For some of our riders, this was the last for the season. For the majority, it is back to training for the final few weeks as they prepare for the ultimate challenge of the Murray Bridge 24 hour race.

Congratulations to all the riders for a successful Race 4 at The Bend. A huge thank you to the amazing parent support team who make Campus Tornadoes Pedal Prix such a wonderful experience for all.

Also, a quick shout out to our sponsors, whom we could not do this without, but particularly John from GoSunny Solar who is sponsoring us for 3 years and is also a Pilgrim Grandparent. Please support them if you can!

Second Hand Uniform Sales

With Devon having limited stock this term and our new uniform supplier starting next term, we are experiencing greater demand for second hand uniform items. If you have clean uniform items in great condition that your family no longer needs, please consider contributing them to the second hand uniform pool. Families receive 50% of sales with the other 50% going towards P&F funds.

While the last of our roof restoration is occuring, our second hand uniform pool is not directly accessible, but please let the Front Office staff know if you are needing an item and they will find an opportunity to check stock for you. We appreciate your patience during this time.
