School Council Message

Despite the Winter chill, term 3 is proving to be yet another productive and eventful one at ASPS.

School council’s School Improvements subcommittee returned from the holidays with a bang, holding a working bee at the end of week one. The hardworking group of parents and some students in attendance were able to achieve an impressive amount on the day. The visible improvements that were made sparked both smiles and discussion from staff and students on the Monday morning that followed. Many thanks to all the helpful bees and also to Lisa Oaten, Hollie Wight and Anthony Hunter for their coordination of the event.

School Council met in late July. We were fortunate to have been joined by students from the ASPS School Action Group (SAG). This passionate group of students from year levels 2 - 6 presented the school’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and provided valuable insights into how this plan is implemented in a very practical way at ASPS. I wish to thank both the students and their parents for enabling this presentation to occur. Special thanks also to Emily Hui for joining us on the night and for her dedication and leadership in this space.

Finally, I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to the 2023 Ball committee for organising such a successful Great ASPS Gatsby Gala Ball at the Malvern Town Hall this weekend. There was a wonderful sense of celebration in the room and the combination of friendship, feathers and fundraising resulted in a party worthy of Gatsby himself!

As always, should you wish to, please do not hesitate to contact council at anytime.
