Positive Climate for Learning

1-2 Learning Community

On Tuesday 3rd of December we celebrated International Day of People with Disability.

We watched videos from this years’ ambassador Kurt Fearnley, who wants to increase awareness and understanding of people with a disability.

Students brainstormed words and phrases to support with this promotion of equality for all amongst the community. Some of these included:

Help all to reach their full potential.
Equality for all.
Inclusion for all.
Make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
Be understanding.
Try to understand everyone’s perspective.
Be kind

5-6 Learning Community

In the 5-6 Learning Community we have been working on writing ‘passion’ projects where the students plan, research, draft, edit and publish a piece of writing of their choice.
