Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Families and Community members,

Grade 6 Graduation

On Tuesday 3 December our Grade 6 students, along with their families and ACS staff, celebrated the end of their Primary School journey at our Grade 6 Graduation evening. It was a great night to recognise the growth we have seen in all of our Grade 6 students and to celebrate their successes over their time at ACS.

We are very proud of all of our graduating students and wish each and every one of them all the best heading in to high school.

A huge thanks to the 5/6 Staff team and the many other people who contributed to this wonderful event

Four of our very deserving students received the following awards:

  1. ACS Sports Award: Jack H
  2. ACS Art Award: Mia L
  3. Oberon High Reading Award: Ruby D
  4. Evan Savage Principal Award (School Values - Care, Collaboration, Commitment): Jayden B

International Day of People with Disability

At Armstrong Creek School we welcome, value and celebrate the diversity that exists in each and everyone of us and our School Community.

People with a disability are just one part of that diversity, but they are a significant part of what makes our school the great place it is.

On Tuesday students across the school reflected on ‘Disability’, how it impacts the lives of many and thought about the great possibilities that exist despite the barriers that may be presented.

Walk to School Winners!

We were delighted to find out this week that ACS had been selected to receive a $500 Rebel Gift Card for participating in the City of Greater Geelong's Walk to School Program in October!!  Our PE teacher, Arron will purchase some great sports equipment on our behalf, keeping in mind the Walk to School spirit of enhancing the physical activity levels of students.   We look forward to seeing what he buys!

Final Assembly

Please note the following with regards to assembly times and dates for the remainder of the year:

  • NO Assembly on Friday 13/12/19 - this assembly has now been moved to the date below.

We look forward to seeing you at our final assembly where End of Term Awards will be presented.

Parent Helper Morning Tea

On Monday we held a morning tea to say a huge thank you to all our Parent Helpers for 2019.  As the school continues to grow the partnership between parents and school plays an integral role in our success.  We thank you for all your contributions throughout the year.

BYOD Handbook

On Monday all families who will have students in Years 3-10 in 2020 were emailed the updated BYOD Handbook.  This handbook has all the details about the program and minimum specifications required when purchasing iPads.

This Handbook can also be found on Compass by clicking on the Community Icon \ School Documentation \ Parent Information \ BYOD.

Final 2020 Prep Transition

This week saw our final Prep transition session take place for all our 2020 Prep students. Along with Story Time orientation in Term 3, our newly enrolled Preps have taken part in three formal transition sessions where teachers have helped induct them into their new learning environment.

These sessions have enabled teachers to see just how ‘ready’ for school our 2020 Preps are! Meeting their home group teachers on Tuesday was the final part of their transition before resting up over the Christmas break ready for school to begin in February. Well done to the Preps of 2020; we are very excited to see you back next year.

Lunch Orders

A reminder that there are no lunch orders on the last day of term due to the earlier finish time of 1.25pm.

The Reuse Project

A reminder that if you are having a clean out at home over the holidays to keep in mind any items that maybe donated to The Reuse Project.

Have a great weekend everyone.
