NAPLAN
During week 5, students from Years 7 and 9 will be sitting their NAPLAN tests. For Year 9 students, this is the last set of NAPLAN testing they will be required to sit, with Year 7 students completing this process one more time in 2020. If a student happens to be absent during the testing, we will endeavour to catch up in the days following the testing phase. As per usual, please ring through to the absence line on days where students are absent. The students will complete the tests during lesson times and supervised in their regularly timetabled rooms. They will complete the tests as per the following timetable:
- Tuesday 15th – Language Conventions and Writing
- Wednesday 16th – Reading
- Thursday 17th – Numeracy – students are required to bring a calculator for this test
Whilst this can be a stressful time for students, we continue to ensure that they are comfortable and supported throughout the process. Attached to this newsletter is also a guide for parents and carers which may answer any questions that arise. If at any time students or parents/guardians have a question or concern please contact Sarah Cameron (NAPLAN Coordinator) at school on (03) 5825 2344.

YR 7 CAMP HOWQUA
"On Wednesday 17th of April, we left school. We were travelling to Camp Howqua. Camp Howqua is near Mansfield. It can get freezing there" ....Kalisha
"When we got there, we went inside to see what cabin we were in and who was in our cabin. We got our bags and went to our cabins and set up. We had different groups. There was Group A. Group B and Group C. I was in Group B" ...Steph
"Now, archery was next. I didn't really have any skills in archery although I have experience. We learned how to use and load a bow and arrow. The target wasn't really that far, but the bullseye was hard to hit. We played an archery game called 'Pizza'. You had to make a pizza by trying to hit the colours. eg. yellow = cheese. If you hit the black, it gets burned and you have to start all over again. Ironically, our home economics teacher burnt our pizza" ....L.A.
"Thursday morning Mr T woke us up with good morning MSC. It was so funny when he said that" ...Jak
"The Yr 8's were coming with us, so I guess it wasn't that bad" ...Rhiannon
"Me and Damon did the survivor course. It was muddy and fun" ...Josh
"Thursday night was onesie night where the year 7's watched the movie Shrek" ...Brodie
"When we did Survivor, it was so much fun, my group almost forgot to touch the Wall of Doom" ...Ben
