It’s official!
It was brilliant to see the students’ smiles and hear their cheers when the Minister for Education, Natalie Hutchins, officially cut the ribbon with the assistance of our student leaders.
We thank everyone – staff, parents, students and the wider school community – who were able to attend this memorable milestone for our school. It’s been a long time coming and we are excited to see the many opportunities this campus will bring to NMPS.
We will use the remainder of Term 2 to continue to get to know our new environment and further develop our routines before looking at ways we can integrate our two campuses so all of our students can enjoy everything we have to offer at NMPS. Two campuses, Together as One.
As shared on Compass last week, we are working closely with the City of Melbourne to ensure the safety of our students and community at drop off and pick up time at our Molesworth Street Campus. We have already seen improvements along Molesworth Street with the opening of footpaths and better signage around the building sites. We will continue to share any updates as they come to light with the school community.
The Annual Report to the School Community provides principals and school councils with an opportunity to share the year’s achievements and progress with the school community. This includes reflecting on the school’s performance and explaining the positive impact of school improvement efforts on student outcomes.
Our 2022 Annual Reporting Community Meeting will be held at 5:30pm on 15th June. If you would like to attend this meeting, please register your interest via this link. More information regarding the location of the meeting will be shared closer to the date.
This week is National Reconciliation Week. At NMPS, students have engaged in a range of activities to acknowledge both National Reconciliation Week and National Sorry Day which took place last Friday 26th May.
At NMPS, we will continue to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Last week we shared the news about the shortage of Casual Relief Teachers (CRTs). Unfortunately, here at NMPS, we are still experiencing the direct impact of this.
We continue to work very hard to cover staff absences with CRTs or internal staff, however there may, at times, be an increase in grade splits over the coming weeks to ensure adequate supervision of all students.
We apologise for this interruption to the normal routine, however we can assure you that your child will continue to receive the same high standard of education across all classrooms, regardless of grade splits or casual relief teachers.
We again thank you for your understanding.
